Wingnut Music.
A New Way.
Wingnut Music is based on a simple idea: Sharing.
The majority of unsigned bands tend to live in isolation, trying to make their own way in the music business, competing against other local and regional acts for fans and publicity.
Many established acts also are struggling in the quickly changing industry, and the 'normal' ways of working with a label, agents, and management no longer apply.
But what if these bands worked together? What if they shared equipment, experience, promotion, expenses, personnel?
This obvious step is rarely taken, so Wingnut is leading the charge.
Amongst the years of collective experience in the music business each member of Wingnut Music brings, founder Erik Nielsen's 10-year tenure with internet pioneers Marillion has revolutionised the way the music business uses the internet to market and sell established music - and more importantly, allows the artist to retain ownership of their own music, and survive without a record company.
We believe these same methods can be used regardless of the status or length of career of any band.
We're not promoters, we're not managers, and we're not a label. We are the artists.
But by bringing bands together - regardless of genre - we can be all these things, and do business the way it should be done: the way the artist wants.
Working with rather than against each other, and sharing resources in A New Way, Wingnut Music will bring yet another revolution to the internet and the music industry.
